Welcome to the home page of Local 006. We are directly affiliated with the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) and we represent employees who work in various Government of Alberta departments such as:
Justice and Attorney General:
Mission Statement: To protect the rights of all individuals in Alberta and advance the interests of society by fostering: safe communities; access to justice; respect for the law; understanding of and confidence in the justice system, and the legal foundation for social cohesion and economic prosperity.
Seniors and Community Supports:
Vision Statement:
To increase the recognition of seniors as one of Alberta’s most respected and valuable resources.
Mission Statement:
Consult with seniors, seniors’ organizations and others to gather information and provide advice to the Minister of Seniors and Community Supports regarding seniors needs. Also includes the following:
Office of the Public Guardian: The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) provides decision-making mechanisms for individuals who are unable to make personal, non-financial decisions for themselves. The OPG does this through the Personal Directives Act, the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act and the Mental Health Act. The OPG also administers the Personal Directives Registry and the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Registry.
AISH: The Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) program provides financial and health-related assistance to eligible adults with a disability. The disability must be permanent and severely limit a person’s ability to earn a living. AISH clients may also be eligible to receive supplemental assistance (a child benefit and personal benefits) through the AISH program.
Persons with Developmental Disabilities: The Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) Program is a provincial government program that provides funding for staff supports for adult Albertans with developmental disabilities. The PDD Program works with others to support adults with developmental disabilities to be included in community life and be as independent as possible.

Our Mission:
Our mission is to work together to enhance the ability of families and communities to develop nurturing and safe environments for children, youth and individuals. Under the direction of the Minister, Alberta Children and Youth Services offers a range of programs and services for children and families. We support families and communities, helping them to provide nurturing, safe environments for their children. We strive to break the cycles of family violence, abuse and poverty that prevent some children from becoming strong, sound individuals.
The delivery of programs and services is provided in the local offices in the Child and Family Services Authorities (CFSA) and the 18 Delegated First Nation Agencies (DFNA).
